Meditation & Mindfulness

"I am too energetic to meditate.  I can't visualize anything in those guided meditations.  My mind wanders everywhere.  What is the point of this?"  Please know, we are used to hearing this - and you are some of our favorite people!  Jodette is a certified meditation teacher and both therapists' method of teaching meditation and mindfulness is for real life.  We love the candles, music and yoga mats; however what is most important is you learn how to realistically incorporate it into your life.  We run classes and teach in session. 

Understanding Meditation & Mindfulness

We are talking; all the time.  We talk to our...kids, partners, co-workers, bosses, students, clients, customers, patients, on social media..talk.talk.talk.  We even "talk" to our bodies, "my sore neck drives me nuts, my stupid back hurts, I don't like my looks, I need to do better at this, I should be helping, I should do better as a parent, etc."  More talking.​

Meditation is listening.  Mindfulness is moving through daily life with awareness.  Neither require candles and yoga mats (although we love them). Meditation and mindful practices are about learning to respond to the world, and your body - differently. That is what Jodette & Billie can help you do.  As you respond to the world, and your body, in a different way; it is amazing to see how the world, and your body, responds to you.  Meditation is not a replacement for mental health treatment, however we believe it is an effective supportive tool for emotional well-being.  Jodette is a certified meditation teacher and provides classes & private sessions.
